We are looking for an experienced individual to perform the role of Operational Risk Officer in the Flying Operations team.

As an Operational Risk Officer, you will be responsible for the daily and ongoing analysis and processing of safety reporting within Flying Operations and across the Jetstar business which supports our Safety Management System.  Additionally, you will be a Flying Operations representative at a number of forums, including daily collaboration with other business units, and attendance at various Flying Operations safety meetings and reviews.  

Reporting to the Senior Fleet Safety Advisor, your main accountabilities will include:

  • Completion of a daily review of all safety reports submitted across the Jetstar business.
  • Provide SME advice on risk and consequence analysis related to safety reporting.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of safety reporting metrics, including OHS and fatigue risk management.
  • Build and present data packs and briefing materials related to safety management.
  • Representing Flying Operations at monthly safety meetings.
  • Ensure when a safety report is submitted that appropriate feedback is provided to the reporter.
  • Monitor and contribute to the development of business unit risk registers and facilitate individual risk assessments.
  • Assist in the processing and close out of event and occurrence management.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of change management.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:

  • Aviation operations experience.
  • Understanding of safety systems.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Good communication and computer skills are essential.
  • Experience in data analysis, Power Bi, and safety risk management will be highly regarded.

You will be able to demonstrate very strong analysis skills, and computer competency. You will thrive working in a compliance environment and can deliver results while managing competing priorities. Your outstanding communication, problem solving, and relationship building skills, coupled with your ability to create solutions/ continuous improvement mindset, will see you succeed in this role.
